Ball valve

       Ball valve is a right angle rotary globe valve with a compact structure, easy operation, and reliable sealing. The core component is a rotating ball (valve ball) with a central opening. By rotating the sphere 90 degrees (1/4 turn), fluid can be quickly opened or completely closed, making it one of the most widely used valve types in industrial pipeline systems.
Core structural characteristics
       Valve ball: usually a solid sphere with a circular through-hole machined at the center that matches the diameter of the pipeline. The material can be stainless steel, carbon steel, brass, plastic (such as PVC, PP) or special alloys, and the surface is often hardened or polished to improve sealing and wear resistance.

       Valve seat: an annular sealing element that surrounds both sides of the valve ball. The materials are mostly soft seals (such as PTFE, PEEK, rubber) or metal seals (stainless steel, alloy). Soft seals provide zero leakage, while metal seals are resistant to high temperatures and pressures.

       Valve stem: connects the operating mechanism (handle, gearbox, actuator) and valve ball to transmit rotational motion. Usually designed with anti blow out structures to ensure safety.

       Valve body: The outer shell of a valve that accommodates all internal components and connects pipelines. Common structures include one-piece, two-piece, and three piece. Three piece for easy maintenance and cleaning. The connection methods include thread, flange, butt welding, socket welding, etc.

Operating mechanism:

Manual: The handle (lever or wrench type) is operated directly, intuitively and quickly.

Gear operation: using a gearbox to reduce speed and increase force, suitable for large diameter or high-pressure valves.

Pneumatic/electric actuators: achieve remote automatic control to meet the requirements of automation processes.

Main advantages
Quick operation: Only a 90 degree rotation is needed to fully open or close, with extremely short opening and closing time.

Low flow resistance: When fully open, the valve hole is basically the same as the inner diameter of the pipeline, with extremely low flow resistance, reduced pressure, and energy saving.

Excellent sealing performance: Especially for soft sealed ball valves, they can achieve bi-directional zero leakage under low and medium pressure conditions.

Simple structure and easy maintenance: especially the three piece structure, it is easy to disassemble, inspect and replace the valve seat and seal.

Durable and sturdy: The structural design is compact and can withstand high working pressure and temperature (depending on the material and design).

Wide applicability: It can be used for various media such as gas, liquid, steam (temperature resistant materials need to be selected), slurry, corrosive media (corrosion-resistant materials need to be selected), etc.

Fire safety design optional: Some ball valves are designed with fire-resistant structures, which can maintain a certain degree of sealing in case of fire.

Bidirectional sealing: Most ball valves are designed for bidirectional sealing, with no flow restriction during installation (except for specific designs).
